It does not matter if it’s just a slight glow or deep dark, many individuals, women and men, like the idea of getting their skin tanned. However for some, the heat of the summer sun may be just too much so getting a tan could be a problem. Also, during winter, people cannot expose their skin under the sun so natural tanning is impossible. If you are one of the people experiencing these kinds of setback, then your best option is to get a tan using a tanning bed. If you do not plan to show any parts of your body, you could simply tan your arms and legs. How will you this? Here are some tanning bed tips for arms and legs that could help you.

Tanning Bed Tips for Arms and Legs

Tanning Bed Tips for Arms and Legs

Tip #1 – Know How to Prepare

Just like when you are preparing to tan your whole body, you also need to shower first before you get a tan on your arms and legs. During shower, exfoliate. When you do this, the dead skin cells are scrubbed off which makes the tanning process speedier. After showering and exfoliating, make sure that you moisturize your skin using a moisturizing cream or lotion. When you are going to the tanning salon, do not use any deodorant, perfume or any beauty product for the skin with a scent. Why? You may ask. These products could cause a skin rash when they get blended with your sweat or the heat emitted by the tanning bed. Right before lying down the bed, apply tanning lotion to your arms and legs. This will help you get the tan faster and at the same time will prevent damage to your skin.

Tip #2 – How Many Minutes Should You Stay in the Tanning Bed

When setting the time of your tanning session, make sure that you limit it to just the right number of minutes. Do not stay long enough in the tanning bed to burn. If you easily get burned when tanning naturally, surely you will easily get burned in the device. When you are tanning for the first time, you only need five minutes to stay in the tanning bed but if you do not have the tendency to get burned, you could tan for about six or seven minutes. Every time you visit the salon, slowly increase the number of minutes of the session.

Tip #3 – What to Cover

Use a type of clothing that will cover the parts of your body you do not like to get tanned. If you only want to tan the arms and legs, you could use a one-piece bathing suit. You may also wrap a towel along the torso area. You could also place a hat or towel on your face if you do not want to tan it. What you need to make sure of is to cover the private parts of your body because the skin on these parts are extremely sensitive and could burn easily.

Always remember these tips if you are planning to tan your arms and legs using a tanning bed. Just in case you have health problems or are pregnant, it is best to consult a doctor first before going to a tanning salon.

great tips. Especially the second one, I see people that haven’t been in the sun at all starting out for 15 minutes in a bed and then they are red as a tomato and complain about it. The key to safe tanning is to start off slow, take your time, and no matter what avoid burning the skin.
